Last updated: November, 2014

Here’s the latest copy of the list of programs available to non-commercial stations by means other than satellite. Since there was no comprehensive list of such programs, I began collecting this information as a way to assist community and college broadcasters and to help program producers get the word out about programs they are producing.

There is a major change to the list with this edition (September 2014).  The listings now begin with organizations that distribute multiple program series.  It was always a challenge to keep these listings up-to-date, so you can now just access their respective websites.  Some of the series from these organizations may continue to have separate listings if they can be received directly without going through their distributor.

As always, I make no claim as to the quality or content of the programs on the list: it’s up to each station to determine if a program is appropriate for their audience.  You are free to forward the list to others who may be interested.

Please let me know if you are carrying or producing a program I could add, or if you spot any errors on the lists. The requirements are that program be on-going (i.e., not a limited-run series or single program offering), be legal for non-commercial broadcast in the U.S. (i.e., they cannot contain commercials, underwriting must conform to FCC standards, free of profanity/obscenity, etc.), and be available somehow to stations that do not have access to NPR’s distribution system or other satellite equipment.  I would especially appreciate contact if you find a program on the list has gone out of production.  Special thanks in this regard go to Danielle Kaeding at WRNC-LP in Ashland, Wisconsin and Norm Stockwell at WORT-FM in Madison, Wisconsin.

I also have information available separately on non-NPR satellite services for non-commercial stations and news “wire” services other than the easy-to-find AP. Send me an e-mail and I’ll send those your way. (davidsor@uwosh.edu)

Thanks.
