FCC Due Dates + Public File

Attorney Cary Tepper has supplied a memo concerning various FCC requirements.

In this memo, Cary reminds stations in AK, FL, HI, NI, OR, PR, VI and WA that certain Public File entries and filings with the FCC must take place prior to October 1, including EEO and Ownership Reports.   Commercial stations also need to submit regulatory fees by 9/25. Those stations that must submit EEO reports will find a new form requiring new data.  There is also a reminder that stations must have the EAS handbook available at the “normal operator duty position” or “where the EAS equipment is installed.  The EAS handbook is available from the the FCC web site.

Not mentioned in the Memo is the need to have a copy of “The Public and Broadcasting” in your public file.  This document was update twice this year, with the most recent revision being published in  July of 2008.  If you haven’t already, print this document, and place it in your public inspection file if your are an FCC licensed Station.
