College Radio Watch: How Did College Radio Influence Your Career Path and More College Radio News

I remember interviewing for my first “real” job after college and my future boss was impressed by my college radio past. We spent much of the interview talking about college radio and music, even though the job (a research assistant at an advertising agency) was seemingly unrelated. Something about having a common passion for music connected us and I think that definitely played a part in me getting the job.

College of DuPage accepts radio station audit after potential fraud

After the College of DuPage disclosed potential fraud at its radio station earlier in the year, the school’s Board of Trustees on Dec. 18 accepted an audit of the station.

Performed by Crowe Horwath LLP, the yearly audit looked at July 1, 2013, to June 30, 2014.

The audit resulted in a clean report, which stated financial documents “present fairly, in all material respects, the financial position of the WDCB-FM radio station.”

Enter student media. At Colorado State University, student media comes in the form of student-run organizations such as the Collegian, 90.5 KCSU radio station, CTV and College Avenue. Each branch of the Rocky Mountain Student Media Corp. is run by the students with professional media heads on staff to help with legal matters.
